Naked Man Addresses Boulder City Council To Make His Point

A longtime critic of the Boulder City Council who took off his clothes to address the elected leaders was arrested Tuesday evening after officials said he refused to leave the podium.

Seth Brigham, a 43-year-old Boulder resident who has twice run unsuccessfully for a seat on the council and who speaks frequently at city meetings, was escorted from the council chambers by police just after 6 p.m. on suspicion of obstructing police.

Brigham, who has a history of mental health problems, took off all of his clothing except for his boxer shorts just before the meeting began -- which he said was to make a point about "free speech."
