Whitman, Poizner Race To Appeal To NASCAR Fans

Whitman, Poizner Race To Pander To NASCAR Fans

As both the NASCAR and political seasons get underway, the two worlds collide this weekend in Fontana at the Sprint Cup Series. In a race to appeal to the NASCAR fans, Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner will both serve as "honorary race officials" at the event, with Whitman waving the Green Flag on Saturday and Poizner riding in the pace car on Sunday.

Of this bit of political theater, the LA Times comments:

Should be some interesting -- some might say awkward -- visuals as these mega-rich business folk mix it up with race car fans. (Michael Dukakis in a tank comes to mind.)
