According to a report from CNN's "Broken Government" series, four out of every 10 visitors to a food pantry is under 18, and 50% of food pantry visitors say they often have to choose between food and home utilities.
The number of homeless around St. Louis has grown 31% in the last year, says Kyra Phillips. There's good news in this report, however. Phillips and her panel discuss a grassroots movement to help feed the hungry. One of her panelists, Marianne Williamson, founded Project Angel Food in 1989, a nonprofit organization that delivers meals to the chronically ill.
Phillips' other panelist, Meredith Dodson, is the director of domestic campaign for RESULTS, an organization whose projects aim to address the root causes of poverty.
