Kevin Costner's Lake County Fielders Selling Tickets Without A Stadium

Sure, if you build it, they will come. But what if you don't?

Baseball fans in Lake County are showing mounting excitement for their new minor-league team, the Lake County Fielders. Season tickets are selling, players are giving autographs, merchandise is flying off the shelves. But the team, owned in part by "Field of Dreams" star Kevin Costner, has no stadium.

In fact, the ground hasn't even been broken for the ballpark's construction.

The team continues to sell tickets -- including season tickets -- while reassuring fans that the stadium will be "ready to go" by its scheduled opening on June 11th of this year.

But the team spokesman, Bernie DiMeo, told FOX Chicago, "I don't think anyone can say with absolute certainty at this point in time" that the park will be ready by that date.
