Carolyn Gilbert, Who Returned To Teaching After Student Stabbed Her, Now Getting Fired

Carolyn Gilbert teaches a fashion class at Elgin High School in January of this year. Gilbert survived a knife attack by a student two years ago.

Gilbert confirmed today she got the news Friday. She's among hundreds of teachers and other staff members in District U-46 who've been put on notice that their jobs are likely to be eliminated tonight when the school board votes on measures needed to help close a $50 million budget gap.
