Colorado Coal-To-Natural Gas Bill Passes House After Splitting GOP

Some Republicans said the bill flew in the face of free-market principles. Others said it would help avoid the "heavy hand" of the Environmental Protection Agency.

In the end, though , more Republicans than not voted today in favor of House Bill 1365, which prods Xcel Energy to convert its coal-fired electricity plants into ones powered by natural gas.
