29 Of Illinois' School Districts On Financial Life Support

Twenty-nine school districts statewide landed on the board's annual "financial watch" list, based on low scores they received on financial reviews in the 2008-2009 budget year. That's an increase of seven from the previous year.

Sixty-six districts -- up nine from the year before -- made the board's "early warning" list. That means they scored low on their financial reviews -- but not low enough to be subject to the same strict monitoring guidelines the board imposes on districts under financial watch.
