Aurora To Build Wind-Powered Traffic Lights

Aurora To Build Wind-Powered Traffic Lights

In the coming weeks, Aurora will install two new traffic signals, at Frontenac Street and McCoy Drive, and Fifth Avenue and Waterford Drive on the East Side. The city will build two 48-foot wind turbines at the southeast corners of those intersections, and the resultant wind energy will power the traffic lights.
