Maude Wilkins Elementary School Women's History Month Fashion Show Canceled After Boys Asked To Cross-Dress (VIDEO)

Maude Wilkins Elementary School in Maple Shade, New Jersey has canceled its Women's History Month fashion show after parents complained because boys were expected to participate. A school memo read "all students" have to wear an outfit to show how women's fashion has changed, but:

If your child is a young man, he does not have to wear a dress or skirt, as there are many time periods where women wore jeans, pants and trousers.

This didn't sit well with Janine Giandomenico and her son, a third grader at Maude Wilkins.

"His exact words were, 'Mommy, please don't make me do this,'" Giandomenico explained. "It wasn't so much about whether it was appropriate, it's what regard this had to his education and what it was going to teach him."
