Rachel Maddow Tackles Scott McInnis's Arizona Comments (VIDEO)

Gubernatorial candidate Scott McInnis's endorsement of Arizona's controversial new immigration laws is now making news beyond Colorado. Rachel Maddow of MSNBC featured 2001 CSPAN video provided by David Sirota in which McInnis, then a Congressman representing Colorado's 3rd district, makes a passionate defense of racial profiling.

This comes the same day that McInnis said he would like to implement similar laws in Colorado as Governor. McInnis defends the law against claims that it will lead to police targeting of Latinos in the state by assuring that anyone who can present a drivers license are presumed to be citizens.

As Maddow argues, "It would be easier to believe all the people saying that Arizona doesn't target people based on race if the same people giving us those assurances were not so enthusiastic about law enforcement targeting people based on race."
