Blagojevich Ran Up $7.2M In Legal Expenses As Governor, Used Taxpayer Money

Impeached ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich used taxpayer money to fund legal counsel that was of "questionable benefit to the state," a new report found.

According to a compliance examination released by the state auditor general's office Tuesday, Blagojevich spent $7.2 million on 62 contracts for outside legal counsel, many times without a proper bidding process.
