Marc Jacobs's boyfriend Lorenzo Martone might be giving the designer a run for his money--and fashions! Martone is set to launch a line of women's swimsuits as part of his Nycked label. Nycked is pronounced "nicked," FYI, not "naked," as we were tempted to assume.
The debut collection includes flourishes such as swimsuits adorned with heat-bonded foil sequins, oversize decorative bows in ciré Lycra, bold corset lacing and lingerie-inspired lace peeking out of demi-cut bikini tops. The key color themes are black, white and red, with nude mesh overlays on some designs. The brand's logo is a geometric bat, based on an origami construction.
The collection will be comprised of 20 styles, priced from $120 to $130 and will go on sale in November.
Martone says he didn't have any help from Jacobs, explaining, "Relationships are hard enough without mixing business into them. I don't advise mixing the personal and professional."
