Sharron Angle To Speak At Vegas Tea Party Convention She Said She Knew Nothing About Last Week

On the heels of Sharron Angle's victory in Nevada's Republican primary race for Senate, the newly-minted GOP candidate will take to the spotlight in her home state once again when she speaks at the National Tea Party Unity Convention next month.

Angle -- who recently declared, "I am the Tea Party" -- will join the ranks of former CNN personality Lou Dobbs and conservative talk radio host Laura Ingraham when she comes out to the July 17 event being held at the Palazzo Resort in Las Vegas.

Tea Party leaders and organizers of the convention lauded news of Angle's plan to address supporters of the conservative movement. Absent from their praise, however, was any acknowledgment that the Senate hopeful, known for touting her Tea Party cred, had no idea the event was even taking place this time last week.

"Hey Sharron, are you going to the Tea Party Convention, I think it's on July 17th Saturday, it's going to be in Nevada, are you going to be there?" Ingraham asked the GOP contender on her show last week.Angle's response: "Uh, I didn't know about July 17th," before adding, "But of course, you know whenever I can be with true patriots, that's where I want to be."

After Ingraham filled in Angle about the much-hyped gathering, which was announced over a month ago, the Tea Party-backed candidate said, "Well I'll make my reservation now."
