Beck: Shirley Sherrod Won't Come On My Show

Glenn Beck lamented to Bill O'Reilly that Shirley Sherrod will not come on his Fox News show.

Beck claims that Sherrod, who reportedly was asked to resign by the White House in part over the administration's fears that Beck would highlight her out-of-context comments on his program, has rejected his invitations to appear on his show.

"We have called her four times," Beck told O'Reilly, adding that he has "supported" Sherrod and defended her against her remarks being taken out of context. "How am I the bad guy? Why won't she come on?"

"Shirley just doesn't like Fox News, and plus CNN has her tied up in a dungeon," O'Reilly joked. "I hear Shirley's going to replace Larry King"

The New York Times praised Beck's handling of the Sherrod story in an editorial this week, saying "this time, he was right."
