George Koumoulis, Norwegian Cruise Passenger, Busted For Pot

Norwegian Cruise Passenger Admits To Bringing Pot To Bermuda

Whoops: A Norwegian cruise ship passenger was caught with weed in his cabin while docked in Bermuda and was fined $1,500 by the local Magistrates' Court, Bermuda's Royal Gazette reports.

The 37-year-old Maryland man, George Koumoulis, admitted to having 7.66 grams of weed when the cruise ship he was on, the Norwegian Dawn, docked on the island on July 22.

Passengers apparently smelled the pot coming from his room and complained. Cruise ship staff went to investigate and also found two Ziploc bags of an unknown substance and three packages of cigarette papers.

On Tuesday, Koumoulis reported to the Magistrates' Court and said: "It was a very, very stupid mistake and I apologise to the courts."

Acting Senior Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo said: "It is a mistake that is worth $1,500 that has to be paid immediately or three months in default."

Bummer, dude.
