'Room to Read' Builds Libraries For Children In The Developing World

Children in New Delhi now have access to libraries and other educational opportunities thanks to the work of the international nonprofit Room to Read. Founded by former Microsoft executive, John Wood, the nonprofit nurtures new literary talent in the developing world, building libraries so children can learn to read and write.

The idea for Room to Read was sparked a decade ago when Wood was on vacation in Nepal. He was saddened by the shocking lack of resources for children and driven to help in any way he could. Wood quit his job soon after and built a global team to work with rural villages throughout the developing world.
