Twitter DOWN 2010: High Error Rate Reported, Engineers Respond

Twitter DOWN 2010: High Error Rate Reported

Wondering why Twitter is down?

Twitter has just posted an update on its official status blog informing users it is "currently experiencing a high error rate on Twitter. Our infrastructure and operations engineers are responding to the incident."

Twitter users report that the current outage has lasted some 30 to 40 minutes thus far.

You can check Twitter's status on the site's blog or on DownForEveryoneOrJustMe.com.

In addition to showing users a picture of the Fail Whale, Twitter has also been showing a drawing of a broken robot when the site is unavailable. (see picture below) We've nicknamed it the Broken Bot. Got a better name? Know its official name? Tell us in the comments below!
