Florida Senate: Rubio Takes Big Lead (POLL)

Poll: Rubio Takes Big Lead

A new poll released today, the first to be released that was conducted after the primary, shows Republican Marco Rubio with a 10 point lead in Florida's three-way Sebate race.

In the Rasmussen Reports poll, conducted Aug. 25 among 750 likely voters, 40% said they would vote for Rubio, 30% for Charlie Crist, and 21% for Democratic nominee Kendrick Meek. The poll's margin of error is 4%.

Both Rubio and Crist were viewed relatively favorably by those polled. Rubio was viewed favorably by 51% and unfavorably by 41%. Even more respondents, 56%, said they viewed Crist favorably, compared to 42% who viewed him unfavorably. Interestingly, though, fewer voters (52%) said they approved of the job Crist was doing as Governor (46% disapproved).

Meek was viewed favorably by fewer respondents than said they viewed him unfavorably, 41% to 47%.
