WHO: Evelyn Twitchell
WHAT: Drawn from Nature
WHEN: September 7, 2010 to October 2, 2010
530 West 25th Street, 4th Floor
New York, NY 10001
WHY: In her paintings, Evelyn Twitchell takes on the emotional, transitional, decaying, and rejuvenating themes inherent in nature. Complex, abstract, and colorful, Twitchell says that her work is "based on natural forms (trees, nests, birds, seeds, water), which veer between abstraction and representation. These are not representational landscapes but, rather, poetic distillations of nature -- studio ruminations on the forces and rhythms of the natural world."
