Windy City Wine Festival Brings Wines Of The World To Buckingham Fountain

This Weekend: Windy City Wine Festival

Oenophiles, rejoice: the finest grapes from around the world are coming to Buckingham Fountain this weekend.

The Windy City Wine Festival is bringing together over 300 wine varieties, domestic and international, from more than 50 vendors to Grant Park on what looks to be a beautiful weekend for a wine tasting.

A ticket gets attendees ten tastings, and more can be purchased at the event. There will also be food available from restaurants like Aria, Caoba and Sullivan's Steakhouse. And when your palate gets overwhelmed with the grape, head to the Belgian Beer Café;, featuring samples of Stella Artois, Leffe and Hoegaarden beers. Plus, there will be food and wine demonstrations and musical entertainment throughout the weekend. Musical headliners are local folk rocker Michael McDermott and The Michael Heaton Band.

As an encouragement to responsible drinking, there's also a "designated drivers" ticket -- for a lower price, visitors get two non-alcoholic drinks, food and wine seminars and a souvenir wine glass on the way out the door.
