Marvin Booker Death: DA Won't File Charges Against Deputies Who Killed Denver Inmate

DENVER - The Denver District Attorney's office has elected not to file criminal charges against the five Denver Sheriff's Department deputies who restrained Marvin Booker inside the Denver jail on July 9.

"Tragically, Mr. Booker's actions and choices resulted in his death," Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey wrote.

Booker died shortly after the deputies Tased him and used a "sleeper hold" on him while inside the new jail's booking area. The coroner's office ruled the death a homicide.
