Israelis Hit The Beach As Tel Aviv Enjoys Warm Unseasonable Weather (PHOTOS)

Israelis Hit The Beach For Unseasonably Hot Weather

As most of Europe and much of North America's eastern regions continue to dig themselves out of immense snowfalls, Israelis are enjoying a much different set of weather conditions during the last few days of 2010.

Unusually warm temperatures reaching 26 degrees Celcius (79 degrees Fahrenheit) had many residents in and around Tel Aviv reaching for their swimsuits before heading to nearby beach resorts.

While the hot, sunny weather may look serene, sources at Israel's Meteorological Service say that drought has been plaguing the nation and the Palestinian territories for some time, with overall rainfall over the past five years coming in at below-average levels.
