Barbara Walters Defends Sarah Palin, Says She Is 'Feeling Bad' For Her (VIDEO)

Barbara Walters: 'I'm Feeling Bad For Sarah Palin'

Barbara Walters came to Sarah Palin's defense on Monday's "View." The former Alaska governor is coming under heated criticism in the wake of the Arizona shooting for the map she put out which placed Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' district, among others, in crosshairs. (Giffords was shot in the massacre, which killed six.)

Walters, though, said that Palin was being unfairly singled out. "I'm feeling bad for Sarah Palin," she said, though she added that the crosshairs map was a bad idea.

Walters continued:

"This is a deranged young man. This is a Timothy McVeigh. Whether this happened because there is...too much commentary, too much violence...whether that really spurred him on or whether he's just a very sick person, we don't know and we don't know what his motives are...to blame Sarah Palin, as some are doing, I think is very unfair to her."
