Julianne Moore: Keeping Marriage To Bart Freundlich Sexy

Julianne Moore On Keeping Her Second Marriage Sexy

This month's InStyle cover girl Julianne Moore dished about how she keeps her second marriage sexy.

"I think you need to be away from your children," she told designer and interviewer Tom Ford. "Doing the mommy stuff does sort of squash that area of your life."

The award winning actress--most recently nominated for her role as a lesbian mother in The Kids Are All Right--is married to director Bart Freudlich, with whom she has two children, Caleb and Liv.

"I can feel [sexy] when I'm alone with Bart or when we take a trip," she added.

Earlier this year, Moore recently told The Guardian that the only reason she got married was for her children.

"I had a therapist who said marriage is really a container for a family, and that made sense to me," she said.

Her first marriage to actor John Gould Rubin at age 22 lasted 10 years. In October of last year, she hinted to The Daily Mail that her work caused the split: "I spent a lot of my 20s concentrating on my profession and neglecting my personal life...And you reach a point where you say to yourself, 'wait a minute, I want a life,'" she said.

Today, she works harder to maintain that work-life balance and make time for her husband and kids.

"I wouldn't call it a struggle. I wouldn't say that it was easy," she told The Guardian. "I think it's what anybody I know who has a family and a career deals with. It's a challenging balance."

The March issue of InStyle is on newsstands Friday.
