Coumar Persad & Davon Webb, JFK TSA Officials, Admit To Robbing Passengers (POLL)

More TSA Thieves Strike, This Time At JFK

Just two days after Michael Arato, a Newark Liberty airport supervisor, was charged with stealing roughly $30,000 over a 13-month time span, now comes news that two TSA agents at New York's JFK airport were arrested on Wednesday for stealing $39,00 from passengers, according to the New York Daily News.

The agents, Coumar Persad and Davon Webb, have admitted to the charges and even admitted to thefts of up to $160,000, the Daily News reports. They were arrested by Port Authority police and charged with grand larceny, possession of stolen property and official misconduct.

A source told the Daily News that the duo worked in tandem: one watching for money in bags as they were screened, one who took the goods once the bags were in a baggage room.

This is now the fourth such incident of this nature in the past eight months. Besides Arato's arrest on Monday (for which he could face 15 years in prison), a Phoenix baggage handler was charged with stealing at least a thousand bags in September, and in January, a Buffalo TSA agent admitted to taking home confiscated items such as tweezers, water bottles and nail clippers--from security.
