'Replica,' A Live Video Dance Performance

Watch: 'Replica,' A Live Video Dance Performance

With just one dancer, some music, a projection, and live image processing, artists and NYU Interactive Telecommunications Program students Jeff Howard and Alex Vessels have created a surround sound dance experience that feels like an epic piece performed in numbers. The performance is projected on a 120 foot screen: a sea of movements and images of the same dancer are repeated, collaged, and spliced creating a powerful performance that calls into question ideas of time, control, authenticity and technology. Watch the project below or check it out on LaughingSquid.
