Lynn Baggett Poured Boiling Water On Elderly, Disabled Neighbor's Head, According To Police

Cops: Woman Poured Boiling Water On Head Of Elderly Dinner Guest

Lynn Baggett allegedly invited her 74-year-old neighbor at the Flannery Apartments to come over for dinner. After putting a pot of water on the stove to boil, police said she poured the boiling water over her neighbor's head.

Her neighbor, who was confined to a wheelchair after a recent car crash, was able to roll to the lobby and ask someone to call 911. She was taken to Stroger Hospital around 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, where she was treated for second-degree burns to the face, neck, back and shoulders.

Baggett, 51, is charged with aggravated battery to a senior citizen. Prosecutors didn't explain a motive to the bizarre alleged attack, but police reports did note that she had been taking medication for bipolar disorder and depression, according to theChicago Tribune.

Flannery Apartments, where the two women lived, is a Chicago Housing Authority residence for the elderly and the disabled.
