Flip Cameras Hit Gilt--A Day After Being Discontinued

Now starring on Gilt Groupe : Flip video cameras, which just yesterday received a death sentence from Cisco.

Some 24 hours after Cisco announced it would be discontinuing its line of Flip video cameras, the cameras have shown up front and center on Gilt.com, a shopping site offering discounts on clothes, trips, and other goods and services.

There's no mention of Flip's demise in the myriad descriptions posted on the Gilt sale page.

Instead, the copy reads,

You'd be forgiven for flipping out when you realize how great the Flip MinoHD and SlideHD really are. But try to contain yourself. Instead, just try keeping one of these sleek camcorders--complete with on-the-go viewing screens and 720p resolution--in your pocket at all times, so you're always ready to record the moment in stunning HD video.

In the "Backstory," Gilt writes, "You know you want to share your trip to Bhutan--or the view from your box seats at Yankee Stadium--with everyone on YouTube. And that's not a problem. Flip Video's palm-size camcorders make shooting high-quality video as simple as taking a photo. The foldout USB plug helps you share videos effortlessly, built in viewing screens let you check out your videos on the go, and the sleek, portable design lets you bring it along with you everywhere."
