Two Women Stabbed During Mother's Day Cookout On South Side

Two women were hospitalized Sunday after being stabbed during a Mother's Day cookout on the South Side.

About 9 p.m., children reportedly began fighting during the cookout in the 7300 block of South Langley Avenue when a 26-year-old woman pulled out a knife, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the woman stabbed one female victim in the back and another in her arm and hand. Both stab victims were hospitalized in "stable" condition.

The 26-year-old was in police custody early Monday, but no charges had been filed.
