Richard Weintraub's 'Villa Contenta' Price-Chopped

PHOTOS: La Villa Contenta Slashed To $28.5 Million

Richard Weintraub, president of Weintraub Real Estate Group, has price-chopped just a portion of his $75 million Malibu estate. Faithful readers will remember that he had listed the estate in May of 2010 at $75 million for the whole estate, or $34,500,000 for just a portion of the property. The new price for the smaller portion: a still astronomical $28.5 million. Together the parcels still come to $75 million.

La Villa Contenta's smaller parcel has seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms across 12,000 square feet of living space. It comes with a guest house, tennis court, theater, maid's quarters, and amazing ocean views. What it doesn't come with, we're guessing, is the greenhouse, outdoor pool and the gorgeous natatorium listed in the main property's description. RealEstalker describes the Hearst-esque natatorium as "a palatial Greek Revival style natatorium/pool house with marble pilasters, walls encrusted with more than 500,000 seashells, six glittery crystal chandeliers, and a glass ceiling."

The enormous estate has been used for several television shows and films, including "Funny People," "I Love You Man," and "True Blood."

UPDATE: La Villa Contenta's listing price was slashed again in March 2012. Click here to see the new details and an updated story.
