Nick Jonas, John Stamos Join 'Hairspray' For Hollywood Bowl August Run

Nick Jonas Becoming A Heart Throb, John Stamos Joins Him

Just as he once supplanted him in the Disney film and music universe, Nick Jonas is now set to take the heart throb baton from Zac Efron on stage, too.

Jonas has been cast as Link Larkin in the big, star-studded Hollywood Bowl performance of the Broadway classic "Hairspray," a role Efron took on in the 2007 big screen re-adaptation (it went from screen to stage and then the screen once again). Set for a limited run in August, it'll be just the latest theater run for Jonas, who had an extended stay playing Marius in the London production of "Les Miserables."

Joining Jonas in the cast -- which boasts Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur in their original roles -- will be John Stamos, himself a recent musical guest star. Stamos, remember, had a memorable run on "Glee" this season. Stamos will play Corny Collins, the TV host.
