Angelina Jolie's 'Salt' Getting Sequel

Blockbuster News For Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie, you have your next mission (maybe go easy on the killing this time?).

Having grossed nearly $300 million, it would seem inevitable that the 2010 spy thriller "Salt" would have a sequel in today's Hollywood. And according to Deadline, that's exactly what's happening -- the site reports that Kurt Wimmer, the writer of the first film, is hunkering down to write a sequel in which Jolie will reprise her role as the Russian-trained CIA agent Evelyn Salt.

However, as Moviehole has reported, the second film will be missing one crucial part: director Phillip Noyce has stated that he won't be part of a sequel.

"If there ever is a sequel, better its directed by someone with a completely fresh take on what I believe could be a totally entertaining and complex series of stories," Noyce said in an interview with the site back in December.

Should the project come to pass, it'll be another big budget picture on Jolie's docket; she's already slated to star in David Fincher's re-imagining of the Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton catastrophe, "Cleopatra." Her directorial debut, "In The Land of Blood and Honey" is set to hit theaters in December.
