He might have missed out on the treble (winning three titles) when Barcelona fell to Real Madrid in the final of the Spanish Cup, but his club team won the Spanish league title and the European club title with a memorable final triumph over Manchester United at Wembley Stadium.

So when you put those team achievements together with the fact that he scored an astounding 53 goals over all competitions in the 2010-11 season -- not to mention the fact that he won the 2010 FIFA Ballon d'Or -- it wasn't a bad year at all for the one and only Lionel Messi.
