Darren Criss In 'Imogen': Kristen Wiig's Younger Love Interest

Darren Criss To Romance Kristen Wiig

Darren Criss made his name on TV playing love interest to Chris Colfer, and now, he'll get a big screen turn by romancing Kristen Wiig.

Not a bad start to a career.

NY Magazine's Vulture Blog confirms that Criss has joined the cast of "Imogen," Wiig's passion project dark comedy followup to her mega-success, "Bridesmaids." Wiig will star as a semi-successful playwright who fakes a suicide attempt to get the attention of an ex-boyfriend; the plan goes awry, of course, putting her back living in the New Jersey home of her mother, a drug addict to be played by Annette Bening.

According to producer Celine Rattray, Criss will take on the role of a "a younger love interest," when Wiig returns to Jersey.

Criss this summer received a promotion to series regular on "Glee," part of the casting commotion that has rocked the show for the past few months. He'll also replace Daniel Radcliffe for a run on Broadway's "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying."
