The savvy shoppers over at SheFinds brought this lovely product to our attention: American Apparel's "Teenagers Do It Better" tee shirt.
Oy.
You'd think American Apparel CEO Dov Charney has had enough controversies, from sexual exploitation of employees and suggestive billboards to some of the skeeviest ads we've ever seen.
But this may be his first foray into sartorial pedophilia, creating a shirt that glorifies teens engaging in sex.
If the shirt's slogan seems arguably innocuous to some, it may help to read up a little more about its roots. The shirt was made in collaboration with a publication called Ey! Magateen (potentially NSFW or LIFE at the link), a mag that celebrates "the magnificent vitality, energy and power of young male adulthood" and features sexy pics of boys ages 16-21.
The magazine features the tee on its Tumblr, modeled by a young teen boy in his underwear. As part of the collab, you can receive the shirt as a free gift when ordering the 124-page (plus "18 sexy stickers!") Spring-Summer 2011 issue of Ey!
Or, for those who aren't into scantily clad little boys, you can order the "Teenagers Do It Better" Fine Jersey Short Sleeve Tee online for $24.
And just when we thought Dov Charney couldn't get any grosser.
