Editorial: Police Spend Too Much On Strippers

Once again, local law enforcement has taken extraordinary measures to set up scantily-clad young women who are trying to get by in the worst economy since the Great Depression. It is long past time for this to stop.

The editorial board has on several occasions complained of unseemly sting operations by the multijurisdictional Metro Vice, Narcotics and Intelligence Division. Highly skilled undercover officers get drunk, buy lap dances from strippers and try to get overserved by waitresses. The barely legal investigations essentially entrap young women, enticing them to commit crimes that cause them financial harm.
