Denver Beer Fest: 5 Events Not To Miss

Denver Beer Fest is upon us, and while large beer-themed events such as Oktoberfest and the upcoming Great American Beer Festival garner lots of attention, there are plenty of other special events occurring over this nine-day period. Here are five you don’t want to miss.

The Great Contenders: The kick-off to Denver Beer Fest, Wynkoop’s pre-Great American Beer Festival event features over 50 award winning Colorado-brewed beers. Pick up passes online and you’ll automatically be entered to win tickets to GABF, where you’ll find each of these showcased brews.

SeptFest: Head to the Ritz for an evening on the terrace with Denver Pale Ale brats, live music courtesy of the local Kentucky Parlor Pickers, and, of course, beer, beer and more beer provided by Great Divide and Oskar Blues.

Beer Olympics: You think your beer pong champion status from college still stands? Pull together your three best buds and compete for prizes at Coyote Ugly’s Beer Olympics in games such as speed pong, flip cup and an obstacle course. Costumes are welcome.

Happy Beerthday: Ladies, happy beerthday to you! Presented by Breckenridge and Ska Breweries, this women-only party includes limited-release brews, specialty pizzas, snacks, beer cupcakes and goody bags. Ginger Johnson, founder of Women Enjoying Beer, will be speaking on the “herstory” of craft brewing.
