Dane Cook To Star In NBC Sitcom

Dane Cook Making A Big Career Move

Dane Cook has toured the world's arenas, and now, he'll be coming to your living rooms. Or computers or mobile devices, or however you might watch television shows.

The standup comedy star has inked a deal with NBC to develop and star in a half hour sitcom for the network, a report confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.

A massively successful stage act, Cook has plenty of scripted acting experience, too. He appeared just recently in "Hawaii 5-0," and played himself in an episode of "Louie" that addressed his alleged joke stealing. He's also starred in a handful of films, including "Waiting," "Good Luck Chuck" and "Detention." He'll next star in "Answers to Nothing" with Julie Benz and Barbara Hershey, and "Guns, Girls and Gambling" with Gary Oldman.
