Tim Tebow Starter: Broncos Coach Names New Starting Quarterback

TEBOW TIME: Broncos Name New Starting QB

There you have it Broncos fans. You have gotten what you wanted. According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, Denver Broncos head coach John Fox has named Tim Tebow the new starting quarterback.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports confirmed that Tebow will replace Kyle Orton and start in Week 7 against the Miami Dolphins.

Fox made a quarterback switch in Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers after Orton completed six of his 13 pass attempts for a meager 34 yards in the first two quarters. Down 23-10, Tebow gave the Broncos a much-needed spark and nearly led them to an improbable comeback.

Despite only going 4 for 10 for 79 yards, the Heisman Trophy winner rushed for a 12-yard touchdown and completed short pass to Knowshon Moreno who ran it 28 yards for another touchdown in the fourth quarter. Denver had cut San Diego's lead to 26-24 and went for the two-point conversion. Tebow threw a fade pass to Brandon Lloyd in the left corner of the end zone but a defender made a great play and knocked the ball out of his hands.

Broncos fans have been begging for Tebow to be the starter all season. In the middle of Denver's Week 1 loss to the Oakland Raiders, Broncos fans began chanting "We want Tebow" as Orton tried leading his team to a fourth quarter comeback. Some fans even willing to pay for their own billboard urging Fox to play the former Florida Gator.

Well, now we can officially say that it is Tebow Time in Denver.
