Steve Carrell To Speak At Princeton's Class Day

Guess Who Is Speaking At Princeton's Class Day?

Comedian Steve Carrell will speak at Princeton's Class Day this year, it was announced last Sunday.

The funny-man will speak as part of the Ivy League institution's commencement ceremonies on June 4th, 2012.

Princeton students were delighted to get Carrell as their speaker, although apparently a family connection played some role in their luck.

The Daily Princetonian has more:

Erin Kiernan [member of the Class Day comittee] told the ‘Prince’ that Carell had been a top choice as a Class Day speaker for several years.

“There is very little incentive [for Hollywood celebrities to speak] because there’s no monetary compensation,” Kiernan explained. “They had asked him the past three years and were immediately declined.”

According to Kiernan, this year’s Class Day committee faced better odds because Carell is the uncle by marriage of a current member of the Class of 2012, whom Kiernan declined to identify.

Carrell will join the likes of Brook Shields and Charlie Gibson class day speakers in 2011 and 2010 respectively.

We at HuffPostCollege can't wait to hear what Steve Carrell has to say. But what do you think? Weigh in below!
