Homeowners Shannon and Scott (their kitchen is seen above) love to take risks, so when designing their kitchen, the team decided to go bold. They created a custom tile back splash to match the color of the cabinetry and to play off their whimsical design tastes. White TUNDRA flooring from IKEA complemented the colorful tiles and keep the kitchen looking open and bright. Since their kitchen was long and narrow, the team chose to run the tile vertical to create opposition the already long and narrow space. The result is a kitchen which is uniquely theirs and will always provide inspiration and of course, a smile!

Christy and Steve Fennessy (kitchen seen above) own a beautiful mid-century ranch, so the team really focused on staying true to the architecture of their home. They kept all finishes neutral to play off the warmth of the new IKEA ÄDEL birch cabinetry. Since their kitchen was closed off to the rest of the home, the team opted to open up a common wall between the living room and kitchen. To bridge these two spaces, a large peninsula was created with a "waterfall" edge detail. This one design change made a huge difference in the way this family functions in their home. Now they are able to entertain, interact with guests and keep an eye on their growing family.
