Thanksgiving At Queen Wilhelmina State Park
Perched atop the second-highest mountain in Arkansas, Queen Wilhelmina State Park Lodge is also known as "The Castle in the Clouds." Each year, a Thanksgiving buffet with traditional offerings is held in The Queen's restaurant in the lodge. The park has numerous activities to offer besides the dinner, such as hiking the trails and backpacking. Reservations for rooms can be made for guests who want to stay for the weekend.
Arkansas Queen Riverboat Thanksgiving Dinner Cruise
The Arkansas Queen riverboat offers daily delightful lunch and dinner cruises up the Arkansas River. And on certain holidays, such as Thanksgiving, the ship hosts a special menu -- the Thanksgiving meal offers guests a turkey dinner with all the trimmings while making a five- to seven-mile journey and back to port. Afterward, cruisers enjoy live entertainment, fireworks and the sights of the Twin Cities (Little Rock and North Little Rock) skyline. The riverboat sets sail twice on Thanksgiving Day.
Volunteer: Thanksgiving Dinner At The Little Rock Compassion Center
The Little Rock Compassion Center provides assistance to homeless and underprivileged residents of Little Rock. Services that the agency provides include a food pantry, hot meals, emergency shelter and church services. Volunteers can help cook and serve Thanksgiving dinner for the 800 to 1,000 guests the center is expecting, or they can sign up for the food-basket program.
