Denver Weekend Agenda: Gorilla Run, Yappy Hour & Last Chance For Dr. Seuss

Halloween might be headlining this weekend, but if you're not in the spirit -- pun intended -- for a raging masquerade bash, there are still a few ghoulish-free events taking place around Denver. Here’s a guide to this weekend’s Mile High events.

Avs: Cheer on the Colorado Avalanche as they take to the ice against the Edmonton Oilers. It's family night, which gets you four tickets, four drinks and four meals for $99.

DeVotchKa: It's time once again for homegrown DeVotchKa's annual Ogden concert. Known for phenomenal themed performances -- a secret until you step inside -- you can expect a packed house and a wild ride.

Gorilla Run: There will be plenty of monkeying around Saturday morning in LoDo as the annual 5K Gorilla Run takes place to benefit the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund. Don't feel you need to run or walk -- skates, unicycles and any other method of movement is acceptable and encouraged. Costumes are included in the fee for first-timers and are yours to keep.

Yappy Hour: Support the MaxFund, a local no-kill shelter, at this early happy hour, open to all ages of humans and dogs. Get creative -- prizes will be given out for best costumes.

Dr. Seuss: Would you, could you miss this final opportunity to catch the whimsical art of Dr. Seuss at Clayton Lane? Get nostalgic with your favorite characters from this timeless author and artist.

Laugh it Up: Whether you love him from "SNL," "Billy Madison" or "My Name is Earl," chuckle your way through the weekend with Norm MacDonald at Comedy Works South. He'll offer four shows over two days.
