Mohammed Nosrati And Sheis Rezaei, Iranian Soccer Players, Suspended For 'Immoral' Behavior (VIDEOS)

WATCH: Iranian Soccer Players Suspended For 'Immoral' Gesture

Two Iranian soccer players have been indefinitely suspended for "immoral" behavior after appearing to intimately touch fellow players during goal-scoring celebrations celebrations.

As the BBC is reporting, one televised segment of the match shows Persepolis defender Mohammed Nosrati apparently pinching teammate Sheis Rezaei's bottom, while a second, later clip shows Rezaei patting a teammate.

Although both Nosrati and Rezaei have insisted the pat was meant purely as an inoffensive, fun gesture, both "have been suspended for an indefinite period from all football-related activities for their immoral behaviour,” according to Ismail Hasanzadeh, the Iranian soccer federation's disciplinary chief, according to the AFP.

In addition, the incidents -- for which the players have also been fined an estimated $40,000 -- have been similarly condemned by officials and commentators. "What happened is absolutely not acceptable because it was a very ugly thing," Jalal Yahyazadeh, a cleric and member of parliament, is quoted as saying by Reuters.
