If you've seen the promotional spots I've been doing for the past several years for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's annual Thanks and Giving holiday program, you know that I'm supported in these efforts by a glittering lineup of today's most beloved stars. This year, Jennifer Aniston and Robin Williams once again lent their time and talent to the kids of St. Jude, as did George Lopez, Morgan Freeman, basketball star Dwayne Wade and Olympic snowboard champ Shaun White.
In 1957, when my dad first started raising funds for St. Jude, he enlisted the help of his famous pals in show business -- Milton Berle, Bob Hope, George Burns, Sid Caesar, Jack Benny, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Sammy Davis Jr. -- even a young Elvis Presley. And for more than 50 years, celebrities have continued to lend their star power to support the lifesaving work of St. Jude. It's such a blessing for me to look back at these photos and see all the wonderful stars who have selflessly pitched in for the kids and families of St. Jude. Their generosity continues to amaze me.
It's so much fun for me to look back at these photos and see all the wonderful actors, musicians, athletes, and politicians who have visited the children or performed at St. Jude Gala events over the years.
