11:11: Rufus Wainwright Track In Honor Of 11/11/11 (AUDIO)

A Song For 11/11/11

In observance of what should be a worldwide holiday -- because a day like this only comes along once in a lifetime, twice if you're lucky -- today's track is Rufus Wainwright's "11:11." It's inexplicably the 13th, not 11th, song off Want One, which just seems like one giant missed opportunity, but we digress. It begins with one of the best feelings in the world -- waking up to 11:11:

"Woke up this morning at 11:11/Wasn't in Portland and I wasn't in heaven/Could have been either by the way I was feeling/But I was alive, I was alive."

That's what 11:11 is all about, isn't it? Thinking about being alive as you witness four numbers lined up perfectly, like a little message from the universe. Because when your eye catches these four numbers on the clock, day after day (no coincidence people) it must mean something, right, RIGHT?

Well if four parallel numbers isn't enough meaning for you, today, we add six more. And yes, it hurts that that doesn't add up to 11.

Happy 11/11/11.
