Don Imus: GOP Hopeful Is 'A Fat Repulsive Pig'

Radio host Don Imus on his show on Monday morning criticized Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, calling the GOP hopeful "disgusting."

Imus, who hosts "Imus in the Morning" on Fox Business News, blasted Gingrich for his harsh comments about the Occupy Wall Street Protesters:

"All the Occupy movement starts with the premise that we all owe them everything," Gingrich said at the Thanksgiving Family Forum in Iowa, as noted by Igor Volsky at ThinkProgress. "They take over a public park they didn't pay for, to go nearby to use bathrooms they didn't pay for, to beg for food from places they don't want to pay for, to obstruct those who are going to work to pay the taxes to sustain the bathrooms and to sustain the park, so they can self-righteously explain they are the paragons of virtue to which we owe everything."

Gingrich went on to say that the Occupy protesters should "get a job" and "take a bath." Imus praised a New York Daily News column that said Gingrich's comments "reek of hypocrisy" and offered up his own criticism of the GOP candidate.

"He's a fat, repulsive pig! I hate to be so harsh," Imus said. "You go out in the woods and find a piece of old, dead wood, you lift it up and underneath there's a bunch of bugs crawling around and white stuff ... that's Newt Gingrich."

This is not the first time Imus has received attention for his shocking comments. He was fired by CBS in 2007 after calling members of the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos."
