Fantasy Football Adds: Joe McKnight, Jerome Simpson, Kevin Smith Among Week 12 Waiver Picks

Most Wanted: Top 5 Fantasy Football Pickups

By Rob Shaw, Bloomberg Sports

Week 11 in the 2011 season will be remembered for a few reasons including Tim Tebow’s shocking win over the Jets on national television, and possibly a devastating blow to the Bears fortunes once again because of an injury to their quarterback Jay Cutler. However, the greater theme was the continued momentum building for teams from previous weeks.

For instance, the Packers scored the first 14 points and the last seven points against the Bucs to win their 10th game in a row, which assures a perfect record for their Thanksgiving match-up against the Lions.

After losing their first seven games of the season, the Dolphins won their third straight behind a stellar game from quarterback Matt Moore. On the short end were the Bills, who at one point were 5-2 this season, but have now lost their last three.

Also streaking with momentum in the right direction are the Cowboys (three straight wins), the Bears (five straight wins), and the 49ers (eight straight wins). The Redskins (six straight losses), Chargers (five straight losses), and Buccaneers (four straight losses) were at one point expected to be contenders, but it has become clear that they can be classified as pretenders for the 2011 season.

While much remained the same in week 11, there were some surprising performances. Here’s a look at the five players who are in the most demand on the waiver wire of fantasy football leagues based on their personal performances or changes on their team’s depth charts.
