sails to some of the most exotic destinations in the world. This small ship visits Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the South Pacific. Cruises include seven-day trips, as well as extended tours of up to 50 days.
Passenger Ship
The Ocean Princess is an R-class cruise ship owned by Princess Cruises. Formerly the Tahitian Princess, the Ocean Princess offers several long cruises, making it popular with older adults.
Special Features
The Ocean Princess includes a main pool on deck nine, complete with two hot tubs, a bandstand and plenty of poolside lounge seating. The Cabaret Lounge is where guests can find a variety of shows that feature dancers, magicians, comedians and singing acts. The small casino has approximately 30 slot machines and a few game tables.
Accommodations
Accommodations on the Ocean Princess are not lacking in variety. There are more than 200 staterooms with a balcony, and all rooms come with a private bathroom, refrigerator and phone.
Cost
An 18-day cruise from England to New York (with stops in Iceland, Greenland and France) in an oceanview cabin costs approximately $4,199 on the Ocean Princess. A five-day cruise from Barcelona to Italy costs $1,549 for a September trip.
Excursions

Dining Experience
The Ocean Princess does not feature an "anytime dining" option, which means passengers enjoy their evening meals with the same people and staff throughout the cruise. Casual dining options include the Burger and Hot Dog Grill, a pizzeria and a French-style bakery.
Maiden Voyage
The maiden voyage of the Ocean Princess was in December 2009. It kicked off with a 16-day Southeast Asia cruise. The Ocean Princess was formerly known as the Tahitian Princess. The name change reflects the world travel aspect of the cruise ship.
In The News
, the cruise line allowed the public to donate $1 to the New England Aquarium and thus become the ship's "godparents." The donations help advance ocean exploration and marine conservation.
