Joe Scarborough, Glenn Beck Agree: Ron Paul Better Than Newt Gingrich (VIDEO)

WATCH: Scarborough Praises Beck, Bashes Gingrich

Joe Scarborough continued to hammer Newt Gingrich on Tuesday, praising Glenn Beck for grilling the GOP candidate and revealing that he agrees with Beck on one other crucial point.

Beck interviewed Gingrich last Tuesday, asking the candidate tough questions about his support for ethanol subsidies, his views on government regulation and his changing views on the individual healthcare mandate. Beck has been vocal about his dislike for Gingrich, calling him "a big government progressive" and "the only candidate I cannot vote for." The interview garnered positive press for the radio host.

On Tuesday, Scarborough credited Beck for the interview and echoed Beck's claim that Gingrich supports big government. "I bash Glenn Beck when he says really inflammatory statements," Scarborough acknowledged. "But Glenn Beck last week had Newt on. And he asked Newt the type of questions that conservatives need answers to."

Scarborough also appeared to agree with Beck's statement that he would consider voting for Ron Paul as a third-party candidate over Newt Gingrich. Scarborough said that it was an option that crossed his mind before. "If Ron Paul's running as a third-party candidate, I'm going to give him a long look," he said. "Because I can't vote for the two guys who worship at the altar of big government in their own separate ways."

Like Beck, Scarborough has been very clear about his disdain for Gingrich -- even before the candidate's recent surge in the polls and the 2012 election season. Scarborough, a former congressman who served under Gingrich, tore the candidate apart in a column for Politico and on-air earlier this month.
